Step #1: Does Your Bra Fit You? It’s been estimated that 85% of the women in America are wearing the wrong size bra. Unfortunately, back fat and an ill-fitting bra makes for an unsightly combination. I discovered that I was one of the famed 85%, and like so many other women, I was wearing the wrong sized bra. I actually needed a larger cup and a larger band. I also opted for a wider band than I was used to wearing. I highly recommend Cacique Bras for a great fit and a smoother look. While we’re on the subject of clothing, now that you have a great fitting bra, make sure your clothing fits you properly too. A great fitting shirt with a cute jacket is a much better choice than a huge, baggy sweatshirt. Over-sized clothing actually makes you look bigger. Back fat is just that—fat. To lose it, you need to reduce your calorie intake (Yes, that means you should count calories) and make healthy food choices. ~reduce your sodium intake Set realistic weight loss goals for yourself….shoot for a 1-2 pound loss every per week. Believe it or not, signing up for a gym membership isn’t necessary to lose back fat. To begin with, lace up your favorite pair of walking shoes and hit the road. Walking is an excellent way to burn calories and tone muscles. If you want to kick things up a notch, you can try your hand at kickboxing or swimming. If you do opt to go to the gym, try out the elliptical machine, rowing machines, and treadmill. Make an appointment with a staff member, and specifically ask them to show you which exercise routines are best for toning your back. There are also lots of really great DVD’s available on the market…look for yoga, Pilates, and belly busting routines. Think sweat! |
