Watch Me Get Rid of Belly Fat
(One Month at a Time)
Watch me get rid of belly fat one month at a time...If I can do it, you can too!
I am 5'8" and my starting weight was 208 pounds.
I have decided to keep track of my weight, my measurements for my waist and hips, my waist to hip ratio, and my body mass index(BMI).
My friend Troy explains the
BMI Index
well. Check it out!

My Belly on January 2nd:My camera was doing funky things so I wasn't able to take this picture on January 1st like I wanted to.
I started my weight loss journey on January 1st (I know..how appropriate...New Year's Resolutions and all!) My weight in this picture is 208 pounds.
I was prompted to lose weight (once again) because I am tired of being fat. My clothes don't fit me, and of course this frustrates me. I am apple-shaped, so when I gain weight, it goes straight to my mid-section.
My Belly on January 15th:Today I weigh 204 pounds, that means I lost 4 pounds. I have decided that I will weigh in once a month, and post my results at that time.
I finished the 4-day Anti-Bloat Jumpstart and it went well. I liked the Sassy Water.
News of the Month:I had a gallbladder attack...never had one before, and it was horrible! I was actually admitted to the hospital because they couldn't immediately rule out heart problems. Yeah...they determined that I have a healthy heart...very healthy! Interestingly enough, the dietary guidelines they gave me to keep my gallbladder under control almost mirror what I have read in Flat Belly Diet. But no surprise really...healthy eating...eat saturated fats sparingly, no Trans Fats, and eat monounsaturated fatty acids.
More News:I joined Gold's Gym...and I am going to start taking a Spinning class.
I am looking forward to the weather breaking so I can start walking again!
My Belly on February 1st:I lost a total of 6 pounds this month. Not too bad...I also lost 7 inches from my waist and hips! Yeah I just want to get rid of belly fat!
I think my first month was very successful. I am still following the Flat Belly Diet and following some of the advice I read in Skinny Bitch...low sugar, reading labels, eating less meat, and watching out for processed foods.
I feel ready to start a new month and get rid of belly fat...as much as possible in one month!
9 Exercise Days this month Shooting for 12 in February!
My Belly on March 1st:
Well, it's been an interesting month! I finally had my gallbladder surgery on February 26th. That morning I took my measurements and weighed myself since I knew it would be pointless to do it right after surgery. When my swelling goes down, I will take my measurements again. I will also take a new belly picture.
I had 9 exercise days for the month of February. I had to stop excercising later in the month because of pain, so I am actually pleased with the exercise I was able to get. I was taking a Zumba class once a week and a Spinning class several times a week...I really enjoyed both!
Even though February was a short month, and I got sidetrack by surgery, I was able to lose 3 pounds and dropped 3 more inches from my waist and hips...I'm excited about that!
A word or two about the label obese...a friend asked me why I wrote the word obese on my chart because she thought it might discourage me. To me it is just a word from the medical community to describe a condition. It doesn't make me a bad person, etc. I decided to include it, because like my weight and measurements it is one more indicator, or better said, another way to "measure" my accomplishments. Before long I will be considered overweight and not obese. Yeah for me and yeah for my health!
I am still very sore, not eating much, and trying to get a lot of rest. Wish me well!
My Belly on April 1st:
As you can see by the chart above, the month of March wasn't very fruitful for me in the weight loss department. I didn't get rid of belly fat, or any fat for that matter! I had my surgery on February 26th and I was told that I shouldn't exercise until April 9th....which is now right around the corner. The month started off well enough...I was eating well, but as the month progressed I got lazy about food choices and the scale showed it with a gain of 2 pounds. I need to get back on track...it's hard for me to lose weight without exercise. I'm annoyed with myself for not at least maintaining my weight. Interestingly enough, even though I gained weight, my waist and hip measurements stayed the same.
Moral of the story...I need to get my butt moving and start eating healthy again!
Weight loss needs to become more of a focus for me(once again), and so the journey continues....Stay tuned!
