Quick Weight Loss Tips For a New YOU!

Quick Weight Loss Tips…
#1 Give Yourself Time:

Make changes slowly and be patient with yourself. Old habits are sometimes hard to break, and training your brain with new healthy habits is a process that does indeed take time.

You’ve probably heard the expression, “Don’t bite off more than you can chew.” The same applies here, and I’m not talking about food either.

Try to view weight loss and changing your body as a process, rather than something you have to achieve over night.

#2 Read Nutritional Fact Labels:

Take charge of your eating habits by reading the nutritional labels on the foods that you consume. Begin to take notice of sodium, fat, carbs, sugar, calories etc. You would be surprised by what’s hidden in commercially packaged foods.

#3 Think Natural:

Once you get into the habit of reading nutrition labels, you will most likely start to start to make natural choices on your own because of your desire to eat healthy.

When you go to the grocery store, get into the habit of walking the perimeter of the store first before going up and down each aisle.

The outer edge of the store is where you will find fresh natural foods, where as the food products up and down the aisles are all processed. Buy processed foods with care.

#4 Shop with a List:

Be prepared when you go to the grocery store. Plan your meals and snacks and only buy what is on your list. This will help combat last minute unhealthy purchases.

#5 Splurge Occasionally. Don’t Refuse the Good Stuff:

If you have a certain food that you tend to “crave”, make sure that you don’t totally eliminate it from your weight loss eating plan. Many people report that when the deprive themselves, it’s the first step towards binging or stopping their weight loss altogether.

If you desire something salty, plan for it and control your portion size. If sweets are your thing, eat a small portion of a dessert or treat when you are away from home, so the remainder doesn’t tempt you. For example, if you like decadent desserts, my friend Debbie has several great diabetic cheesecake recipes that tastes delicious.

The next time you’re invited to a potluck supper, take this cheesecake along. You can have a controlled, great-tasting treat for dessert and you will know the exact nutritional information. A win-win situation!
