Water and Weight Loss Can Drinking Water Really Help me Lose Weight!?

Water and Weight Loss:
Sure, water is one of life’s staples, but how much should I drink?

I’m sure you have heard the old recommendation of drinking 8-8oz. glasses of water every day.

Although, there’s nothing wrong with this advice, it may not bode well for all people. Water is vital for good health, but recent studies have shown that there is no “magic formula” for the amount of water all people should consume.

Instead, you should drink enough water to satisfy your own body’s needs. The amount of water you drink really depends on several factors including: the environment in which you live, your health, how much exercise you get, if you are trying to lose weight, and for women that are pregnant or breast feeding.

So how much is enough? If you live in a hot climate or exercise strenuously, then the 8 glasses a day recommendation a day, still probably applies to you. If you are less active, use your thirst as your personal guideline.

If you are pregnant, nursing, dealing with an illness, or have other health related issues, consult your doctor and follow his advice. Remember, water enables every system in your body to function properly.

More times than not, people ignore their internal thirst signal, and reach for something to eat when their body is actually screaming out for water.

This can lead to dehydration, skin issues, constipation, and digestion problems. Get into the habit of asking yourself, “Am I hungry or thirsty?” and then respond accordingly.

Use the “Pee Test” to see if you are drinking enough water. If your urine is clear or a very pale yellow, then you are probably getting enough water into and through your system.

~Water, Water,Everywhere…You can drink it warm, cold, or at room temperature. It tastes great wedge of lemon or lime, or a sprig of mint.~
