Weight Loss Success Stories Pam D.
#2 Weight Loss Success Stories: Pam from Ohio has been on her weight loss journey for the last 9 weeks and has lost almost 24 pounds! Pam is 5'4" and her starting weight was 186.8 pounds. She's eating healthy, getting lots of exercise, and she uses a weight loss product that she sells from her business website.

I have struggled all my adult life with weight. I have been around 50 lbs overweight for the past 15 years. In the past I have tried many diets and exercise programs over the years without success.
I wanted to lose weight for several reasons. First and foremost my health as it was scary to know the risks for me being overweight, for my self-confidence, so I could "play more" and do more without the burden of the extra weight, and having a home-based business in the health and wellness industry it was embarrassing for me personally to be so overweight all while I am trying to help others with their health, wellness, among other things.
To date I have lost 23 1/2 lbs and 28 1/2" off my total overall body measurements. I am not at my goal yet but I am confident I will reach it in time for summer fun. I had originally set a goal of 50 lbs but as I continue I feel I may not have to lose quite that much. For now I am going by the way my clothes fit and how I feel.
I am taking a product as well as following a plan. My business launched a new weight loss product/plan middle of January. This product targets "belly fat" and is in liquid form. I take 2 oz with 8 to 10 oz of water right before I eat breakfast and lunch.
Along with this I followed their basic recommended diet and 30 to 40 minutes of exercise every day. I mix it up between walking, the elliptical machine, and the WII Fit. I do NOT like exercise. I would rather scrub toilets then exercise but I don't think about it so much now and just do it like any other chore that needs to be done. Since I work at home I am able to split up my exercise throughout the day and exercise about an hour after I have eaten.
When did people start to notice that you were losing weight? That's tricky as I had become a master at camouflaging my belly where most of my weight was. I would say that my family that saw me everyday noticed around 7 to 10 lbs and others more at the 12 to 15 lbs mark.
What is the most difficult thing about losing weight? Well, in the past I would have answered everything about losing weight is difficult but this time for me the most difficult thing is trying to stay on some sort of schedule with my eating and not eating after 7pm.
What is the most rewarding thing about losing weight? EVERYTHING is rewarding about losing weight! My selfish instant gratification right now is being able to walk into a store and NOT have to go to the Plus size for my clothing needs. For some reason I can't figure out they tend to make plus size clothing with bold bright colors and prints (as if I wasn't self conscious enough about my weight they want me to really stand out in a crowd!)
How many sizes did you lose? Did you save any of your clothing, or get rid of it as you got smaller? When I started I was a size 18 pant and extra large shirts etc...now, depending on the brand/cut I can wear between a 10 and 13 pant and medium shirt. I have not gotten rid of my larger clothing yet, as I hadn't given it any thought.
Is there a particular moment during your weight loss journey that you will always remember? Yes, it was the end of my 2nd week. I had taken a "before" picture and at the end of week 2 I decided that I would start taking a "during" picture each week. When I saw the comparison picture of my "before" and 2nd week I was amazed at the difference in just 2 weeks. I knew I was losing but as I am my worst critic I was not seeing myself in the mirror like I saw myself when the picture was taken, self image and all that. Anyway it was a great moment for me and each week I am eager now to take my weekly "during picture" so I can compare.
How often do you weigh yourself? Everyday...but mostly so I can document my journey. I don't stress if one day I gain etc. As I know that there are so many factors that can cause your weight to fluctuate. I like going by the way my clothes are fitting and inches lost more so then what the scale says.
Did anyone try to sabotage your weight loss efforts or did you have a good support system? Although no one purposely tried to sabotage my weight loss efforts, in my world, in my head I would often think of them as sabotaging me. For instance, before I started the weight loss no one was calling on a regular basis to go out for dinner, but it seemed as though once I started we were getting invite after invite for dinner, a party, food everywhere I had to resist. You stop by to visit a friend and even though they know you are on this weight loss mission they sit a plate of brownies with chocolate icing in front of you....Are you kidding me? How can one resist chocolate?
But I know it wasn't done on purpose, I know that. I had and continue to have tremendous support from my family, friends, and business associates. This is nice and a first for me as this is the first time I have put myself out there and let everyone know I was on a weight loss mission. In the past I didn't tell anyone when I was trying to loose weight and kept it a deep dark secret.
What's your best weight loss tip for our readers? I guess I would sum it up by saying find the weight lose program that works best for your individual requirements. Tell your family and friends that you are going on a weight loss program and ask them kindly if they will support you. Seek out others that are trying to lose weight and get yourself some weight loss buddies. And while on your weight loss program if you fall off the horse one day then get right back on it the next. Don't give up! Sorry, that was more then one tip :-) Pam...thank you for submitting to weight loss success stories. I absolutely love your positive attitude. You look fantastic and I know you will inspire others! Please keep me posted on your continued weight loss!

I have been eating right, with portion control and doing an hour and 30 minutes of activity 5 days a week. I was wondering what the name of your product is that you are using. Like many other women out there I am sure, I have belly fat that I want to loose so that I can decrease my risk of serious health problems in the future and feel better about myself.
